Meet Our Team

CEO/ BBS Clinical supervisor
Candace Deese, LMFT
My path in the healing arts began in 2011 after earning my B.A. in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino. I later completed my M.S. in Counseling Psychology at California Baptist University in 2015, building the foundation for the clinical work I’ve been dedicated to for the past decade.

Throughout my career, I’ve supported diverse and high-need populations in settings ranging from inpatient addiction recovery programs to clinical work with military service members and veterans. These experiences strengthened my commitment to trauma-informed care and deepened my understanding of resilience, grief, and healing.

In 2018, I expanded my trauma focus by training in EMDR and later joined Loma Linda University’s Behavioral Medicine Center, where I worked with high-risk clients and deepened my clinical skills, particularly in DBT. This work reinforced a core belief: meaningful healing happens when therapist and client can be fully present with one another.

Today, I practice through an integrative lens, blending DBT, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems—including Frank Anderson’s parts-work model—to help clients reconnect with wounded, protective, and resilient parts of themselves.
In 2020, I founded Guiding Hope Counseling with a vision to move beyond the traditional corporate mental-health model and create a space rooted in compassion, authenticity, and human connection. Our mission is to ensure every person who comes through our doors feels seen, supported, and empowered on their path to healing.

COO/ Clinical Coordinator
Dr. Jacquelyn McDonald
DSW, LMFT, LPCC
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor with a Doctorate in Social Work. My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through relationship—when we feel safe enough to be authentic and explore the patterns that no longer serve us.
I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families build deeper connection, trust, and understanding. With advanced training in father–child dynamics, I’m especially drawn to supporting clients in exploring generational patterns and healing emotional wounds that can carry across time.
My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and non-pathologizing. I see therapy as a space to reclaim your voice, move beyond survival roles, and create relationships—and a life—that reflect your most authentic self.

Clinical Lead
Floret Blanco-Rosales
AMFT, APCC
I’m a client-centered therapist who believes healing is a collaborative process. I prioritize creating a safe, trusting therapeutic relationship and draw from trauma-informed practices, including DBT, EMDR, and somatic techniques, to support emotional regulation and meaningful change.

I specialize in trauma and PTSD, relationship and family dynamics, self-esteem, and identity development, and I work with children, teens, young adults, and adults.

I began practicing as an associate therapist in June 2024 after earning my B.A. in Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, and my M.S. in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. I have specialized EMDR training and experience supporting clients across all stages of development, including individuals, couples, and families.

Clients often describe my approach as direct, compassionate, and grounding—someone who offers both validation and constructive challenge.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy exploring art museums, connecting with my cultural roots, learning history, and seeking out the thrill of a good rollercoaster.

In therapy, I create a warm and safe space where you can show up as you are. I integrate CBT, DBT, EFT, and other evidence-based methods to meet your unique needs.

I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, and specialize in anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, stress, burnout, grief, and identity development. I also have training in couples work, crisis intervention, DBT, and behavioral challenges.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my three dogs, being with family, listening to country and Spanish music, and unwinding with a good show and good snacks.

Enrique Gonzalez, RAMFT
Enrique Gonzalez is a pre-licensed clinical therapist with more than a decade of experience in the behavioral and mental health field. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from California Baptist University in 2021 and recently completed his Master of Social Work (MSW) at California State University, San Bernardino in May 2025.
Enrique’s clinical practice is grounded in evidence-based and trauma-informed modalities. His therapeutic framework integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems Theory, and relapse-prevention models for addiction recovery. He also incorporates trauma-informed interventions to support nervous-system regulation, emotional processing, and increased psychological resiliency.
With extensive experience working with children and adolescents ages 5–17, Enrique is skilled in supporting youth through emotional, developmental, and behavioral challenges, while also collaborating with caregivers and family systems to promote sustainable change.
Enrique is deeply committed to amplifying the voices and lived experiences of the individuals, couples, and families he works with. He approaches therapy through a lens of cultural humility, collaboration, and genuine empathy—believing that healing is most powerful when clients feel seen, heard, and empowered in their own growth. His goal is to create a therapeutic space that fosters safety, authenticity, and long-term transformation.

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC-I) at Guiding Hope Counseling. My background includes extensive training in family systems, biopsychosocial development, and person-centered interventions. I bring over a decade of experience in human services, including special education, ABA intervention, and Student Assistance Program (SAP) counseling.

Clinically, I integrate person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic approaches to help clients heal the whole self. Clients often describe my style as supportive, direct, empathetic, and insightful. Outside the therapy room, I stay active through ministry work, recreational sports, youth coaching, and volunteer roles such as hospice support, crisis counseling, and NICU cuddling.
